DIY back earring for studs

Try this simple back earring for a grand look during occasions.

Materials required

Glue

Scissors

Pen to mark on OHP sheet

OHP sheet small piece

Stone or pearl lace as required

Cut a square piece in cardboard and punch a hole in it. Now wear this piece along with your earring and make a marking around your ear to know the size. Then cut accordingly in OHP sheet as well.

Stick pearl lace or stone lace as per the design required. I have put in 2 pieces of 2 stone lace bits together to make a square. Have stuck 5 similar pieces all around the cutting. Use only such glue which will become transparent when dry so that it looks neat when worn with the earring.

Shilpkar clay jewellery

A first attempt at using Shilpkar clay to make tiny jewellery pieces. Lot of imperfections and need to practice more to get better finishing.

Tutorial - Silk thread bangles

Here is a step by step picture tutorial after a long time..

Its really simple to make trendy Silk thread bangles customising it to our requirements..the materials are easily available too

Materials required

Silk thread or embrodiery threads
Stone or pearl lace or small designs in plastic that can be stuck
Glue
Plain bangles (special bangles are also available for jewellery making and even old bangles can be used for it)

Start by tying a knot with the thread in the bangle. Roll the thread all over the bangle closely without gaps and put a knot in the end too.

Hold the stone lace over the bangle (it could be in the center or two lines in the corners or any zigzag pattern too) and secure it by rolling gold colour or a contrast colour or same colour thread so that it doesnt move and also gets a grand look.

Glue the ends of the threads so that it is secured. Repeat for other bangles as required. You could make a mix and match of some plain bangles without the stones and some with stones to get a full set. Here is a picture of the plain and finished bangle together.

To make paper beads-

Magazine paper of any length

Glue

Pen Knife

Ruler

Cutting/Chopping Board

Transparent Nail polish/Sealant

Pen/Pencil

Tooth pick/Chop stick

Cut the Paper into Triangle strips - One end should be pointed and the other end of the strip can be of width 1 cm, 2 cm or as required for the bead as more width would give broader beads.

Now start rolling each strip with the help of a tooth pick/Chop stick. Glue at intervals and also apply glue at the end of the strip. Apply transparent nail polish / sealant to water proof each bead and let it dry.

Now the paper beads are ready to be made into beautiful neck pieces, bracelets and earrings.

Join the paper beads with other colour beads or tubes depending on your creativity. The loops for earrings and hooks for bracelets are available in craft shops and can be used to make matching earrings and bracelets.

Bead Bracelet

Materials required

Crystals of atleast two colours

Jewellery thread

Hook with rings

Gold beads

Fevibond Glue

Use double thread for the bracelet. First attach the thread to the rings well. Unless this is strong enough, the bracelet will get cut.

Now insert 10 gold beads to the thread. If required you can even add 2 more (optional).
Cut the double thread in the top corner where ur needle was placed.(see figure 1) Now onwards two needles will be used. Insert two needles in the two pieces of thread.

Now insert two gold beads, one in each thread. Next insert one crystal in one of the threads and pass the other thread from the opposite direction (i.e from the top hole of the crystal) in the same crystal so that the position of the needles change and the crystal comes in between two gold beads. After this, the needle you were holding in the right will come to the left side and vice versa. This is called passing the bead. Again insert two gold beads and repeat the same process till you insert atleast 18 crystals. Now, take out the needles and insert both the threads into a single needle and insert 10 gold beads (12 in case you inserted 12 in the beginning) See figure 2 below.

The next step is to attach the hook to the thread and put lot of knots to make it strong.

Finally, apply fevibond to the hook and rings where thread is attached to prevent it from opening up.

Let it dry well...your bead bracelet is ready.
